Okay, seriously, what's up? My name is Robert, and you've managed to find my little nook on the 'Net, hamstercult.com. There are four primary sections at hamstercult.com. First there is "The Muse." I'll be posting various writings up there for your reading pleasure. Next is "The Thoughts." This is a real potpourri section, where random thoughts, ideas and schemes my mind conjures up will go. "The Sport" is a lot like "The Thoughts," but will focused on sports-themed ideas, because I'm quite the sports nut. "The Links" is for intense discussion of breakfast sausage. Actually, it's links to other pages. A little about me (truthfully this time...) I'm 22 years old, ethnically a mix of a lot of stuff (but mostly French, German and Irish), religiously a Pentecostal, politically a moderate conservative, and an only child. I grew up in a small town of 800 people, where I graduated third in my high school class--of 20. After that, I started my schooling at College of the Siskiyous in Weed, California. I earned an Associate's degree in general education. I currently attend California State University, Chico where I'm a ninth-semester senior majoring in journalism and minoring in creative writing. I'm an editor at the school newspaper, the award-winning and nationally acclaimed The Orion, where I've also been a staff writer on the sports, opinion and news sections. I've also done summer internships at professional newspapers. I think I'm a good writer, a decent draft editor, moderately good proofreader, and a lackluster grammar checker. (example: It wasn't until my junior year that I finally realized "grammar" didn't have an "e.") My favorite football team is the San Francisco 49ers, favorite basketball team is the Portland Trail Blazers, favorite hockey team is the Vancouver Canucks and favorite rugby team is the North Queensland Cowboys. I'm generally cynical about politics, but still maintain a moderate curiosity. Someday, if I become a successful writer, I would consider parlaying that fame into a run for the U.S. House of Representatives. There's FAQ page about me and hamstercult.com here. Home
